Q: Do I need to make an appointment for a blood test?
A:

No. We attend to our patients on ‘First Come First Served’ basis. We are open at 6:30 am.


Q: Can I have a blood test even without a doctor’s prescription or order?
A:

Yes. We can assist you as to what test you would like to have.


Q: How long do I have to fast before I can have blood extraction?
A:

For Fasting Blood Sugar (FBS), at least 8 hours.
For Triglycerides, at least 10 hours.


Q: How long is considered as Over-Fasting?
A:

16 hours is considered over-fasting.


Q: What does FASTING really mean?
A:

Fasting means no food and no liquid intake. Soft drink, alcohol, juice, coffee or teas are considered as liquids. Plain water (but not more than usual) and regular medications are allowed.


Q: How can I avail of ‘Home Service’?
A:

Please call up the laboratory a day before the appointed date of service. Please check our office hours.


Q: Can you do ‘Home Service’ for urinalysis alone?
A:

Sorry, we do not.


Q: How long can a urine sample stay good before being analyzed?
A:

We only accept urine for urinalysis within 2 hours of collection if held at room temperature, and within 4 hours if kept refrigerated.


Q: Do you charge a ‘Home Service Fee’?
A:

Yes. We charge a reasonable Home Service Fee depending on the location of your residence with our lab site as the starting point.


Q: How do you charge the ‘Home Service Fee’?
A:

The Home Service Fee is charged for one address regardless of how many clients the med-tech attends to at that address.


Q: Is there a minimum amount before Home Service is extended?
A:

No minimum amount is required.


Q: How soon do I get my result?
A:

Depending on the blood test. Most routine tests are done within the day. Certain special tests may take longer because of either longer incubation period or require more extensive processing.


Q: For emergency cases, can we request for immediate result?
A:

Yes, as long as the test permits. We give priority to emergency cases without extra charge.


Q: How can I get my test results?
A:

Test results can be picked up at the lab, send thru fax, emailed to you or sent to your doctors at selected hospitals like Chinese General Hospital, Metropolitan Hospital, UST Hospital, Cardinal Santos Medical Center, Phil. Heart Center, Makati medical Center, Manila Doctors Hospital, and Medical Center Manila. We can also send to your residence if within the Binondo areas.


Q: How do I view my result on line?
A:

Go to our website at www.interconlaboratory.com and log in your IDL ID number, birthdate and full name to view your test results.
